Pretty decent little place. Ordered crab cake sliders and they were rather tasty and filling for a reasonable price. Between me and my two friends, we probably spent around $30 for lunch. If I ever come back to Weeki Wachee, Florida I will be sure to go back to this place.

I Love Upper Deck! Their Prime Rib sandwich is perfect! It doesn't need the bun, it's a great piece of tender meat all by itself! Their stuffed mushrooms are my favorite appetizer, and I love to sit outside and watch the kayakers come in from their trips! Service is great and they have TV's inside and out for every sporting event you could ever want to watch! The owners have redone the bar area and made some great improvements over the past few years so if you haven't been there in awhile you should go check it out! The locals are friendly and the food fresh and delicious! Anything on the water is treat, but when you add cold drinks and delicious fresh food it's a dead ringer! Love this Place!

Nice casual atmosphere and decent food. We had the fried spicey pickles and wings. Both were pretty good. Definitely a place just to chill and have a drink.

Stopped in a coule weeks ago and had the fish platter it tasted great the whole meal was tasted excellent. Service was great as well, the whole wait staff was very friendly and attentive. They had live music so I stayed after the meal and had a couple drinks and listened to the music a while they were very good musicians I had a great evening, very enjoyable evening.

Decent enough fried food. Onion petals were good, fried clam strips were in a pinappley batter which just didn't work well with the clams. View of the swimming area if you want some really interesting people watching.

Had some fried pickled and beers this afternoon after kayaking the river. Fried pickles were awesome and can't go wrong with an ice cold sweet water 420 beer! Sat out on the deck and saw 7 manatees swimming around! Peaceful view and good spot to have a few cold ones- not sure how the food was but fried pickles were a great snack!

bad service. pretty bad food. Your deck needs to be pressure-washed. Even being outside doesn't kill the nasty old-beer smell. I went there of an afternoon with my grandson, and neither one of us could eat our meal. Unfriendly and unprofessional staff.

We had the all-you-can-eat fish and shrimp on a Tuesday night special, for $9.95 each. All frozen. Nothing made fresh. Tragic. The shrimp were small and very deep-fried, while the fish was some type of white fish and also quite deep fried. I'd guess the steak-type french fries were frozen. The tartar sauce had a date on it, though it didn't taste like anything special. The cocktail sauce was probably commercial, too. I saw some sandwiches coming out that looked better. I didn't see the wings, but those might be a fair bet, though I'm sure they're frozen, as well. We sat on the upper deck overlooking the river. Although it was outdoors, it was close to the indoor bar. Still, they allow smoking on the deck, which just about ruined my meal while I tried to eat. Yet, they do not allow dogs. Go figure! I found an overflowing and quite disgustingly stinky ashtray on my table. So I had to get up and put it elsewhere. Be forewarned that they allow smoking here while you try to eat. Which I didn't think was legal. Anyway. This could be a good spot, but it could definitely use an upgrade to the food. Our service was fine, but others have complained strongly. There aren't many competitors to this place, which is probably why it's not quite up to par.

Smh. Let me start by informing you all that I WORKED here for 2 days and never came back! (Something they're very familiar with when it comes to their waitresses) First of all its dirty as hell. Looking through the kitchen I noticed one of the cooks had an open wound and was handling the food!! Not even joking he walked up to the soda fountain where I was filling drinks and he scratched a gross open sore in the back of his neck and went right back to the kitchen. NOBODY washed their hands and when preparing the customers salad you get yelled at for putting on gloves because it 'wastes too much time' like ew I was just touching old food and empty beer bottles I'm not putting my hands in people's food like that. Also their dog lives upstairs where extra pans and dishes are kept in the damn hallway Also everything you read about management is not exaggerated, it's a mom and pop restaurant and the son (manager Jason) is an asshole. He's cursed customers out and told them to leave and not come back when they had a genuine complaint smh I can't work at a place like that for yes.. $2 an hour.

Good food. All bar style. Not 5 star and not trying to be. Great stop for a beer or a bite. I would not make it my dinner destination but have gone here multiple times for a lunch or to eat after kayaking.

I came here after kayaking about a month ago. We ate outside on the deck facing Rogers Park. The food was expensive and subpar. The waitress didn't seem like she wanted to be there, but from what I've heard this is for good cause. Wasn't planning on going back anyway but after reading how the jerk of a manager has treated other paying customers (one of them being my sister) I can promise I'll never come back here. I whole-heartedly hope this business fails. I hear tell the manager is the owner's son. Any owner willing to sacrifice the respect of their customers so this princess of a son can keep a job deserves failure. Do yourself a favor and eat some river grass. Same quality and taste, only free!

I wish it was possible to give a minus star. I know right off hand who "Jason" is. The manager that treated my party and I like absolute garbage. The waiter apologized profusely but there was no coming back from that. I was belittled and cussed (with the f bomb) with no good reason, at a dirty little hole in the ground such as this? I am shocked! I will absolutely never make this mistake again without question. I can't wait to tell everyone I know to stay as far away from this mediocre shame of a business as they can. I would recommend a back woods nasty diner before I ever had a notion of coming back to this hell hole. Stale beer and frozen food. I felt like an idiot for being charged as much as they dared price. I feel sorry for anyone who has made such a mistake or will in the future. Never have I been so insulted in my life at a restaurant. Please, please do yourself a favor.

The only thing going for The Upper Deck Is the location. Service poor at best Ordered an absolute along with our hamburger and wings. When got our tab we were charged $5.50 for the drink and an extra $2.00. I questioned this added charge and was told by manager? Who was wearing a Popeye t-shirt, that the drink with their usual 1oz pour would not look like much of a drink so "they" add 1/2 oz and call it a long pour and add $2.00 extra without informing the customer. The drink didn't even look like it was worth $5.50 let alone $7.50 The "manager" really hit a record low for rudeness when he told me to stay home and drink. Really??? The management should go back and take business 101 and try and to pass it

Pretty view. Great drink prices. Food was ok. Krab balls were good but buffalo chicken sliders were terrible. When we told the server, they would not remove from the bill.

It's a shame that this place is in such a great location because the service is absolutely horrendous and the management is even worse. The manager, Jason, was beyond rude and disrespectful. Food was mediocre at best. Do yourself a favor and steer clear.

This is a great place to have a bite to eat after paddling on the river. They are kid friendly and the food is pretty tasty. It's very casual which is so nice after being on the water. These are the items I highly recommend Chicken house salad is very good- light and filling, nachos supreme is a great appetizer or as a meal. The California chicken club sandwich is one of my favorites. The only down fall, my phone doesn't like to work in this area. AT&T

Awful.. Won't ever go again.. Service was awful.. Food was mediocre... Waited 45 minutes for our food. They forgot the 5 year old child and did apologize however, instead of having the chicken tenders out in 5 min, we waited another 20 and had to feed him food from the adult plates so he wouldn't starve.. Will never go back.. Staff was rude too.. I will stick to my roots in the city..

Delicious food EAT THE RIBS!! Good service. Live band was so/so but the atmosphere was perfect for after a day on the boat but you don't want the fun to stop.

  • Joey L.

Drinks outside on the upper deck, check. Atmosphere, check. People watching across the river on the beach, check. Menu, blah!...almost all of it is fried: fish, wings, apps, entrees, even the special had ALL fried food. Change the kitchen and the menu and this place would be something to write home about! Otherwise it's a good place to enjoy a beer or two, relax, then enjoy lunch or dinner somewhere else.

Had a great time with my boyfriend while spending his birthday staying in a house on the river. We had no clue where to go to celebrate and found ourselves at Upper Deck. They gave him a free birthday purple hooter shot. We had a few beers, but didn't eat. Seems like a fun place to hang if you're in the Weeki Wachee area and don't mind some chain-smoking folks in the outdoor area. Great view of the river and swimming area off the deck.

Awful service and even worse management. Waitress forgot to bring us something every time we asked. Ordered the ribs and they were no bigger than two inches each. Spoke with the manager Jason who did not want to even hear our story. Was not looking for anything for free but he did not even want to hear it. Will never return.

Typical okay bar. Food is ok, service is mediocre, beer and drinks are okay. Wednesday nights are the worst to go due to the band they keep around even though he's horrid and chases customers away. Other than that, go watch some fish in the river if you can find a seat.

Went with a party of six and was accommodated. As for the food: Mom asked for medium cooked burger, it was well done and very dry but the flavor was good. Hubs and I ordered the blackened garlic wings to share, they are delicious! Beer was cold. Nachos were piled high, but the beef wasn't seasoned so it was just plain hamburger meat...would have been awesome with a taco flavored meat. Ladies restroom was pretty clean but my husband said the men's restroom was really nasty and dirty. The Resturant isn't real clean and the food was ok.

I am a seasoned world traveler and a chef of 16 years , and I have to admit this little gem of a restaurant has the best clam chowder I have ever encountered . The complimentary bread comes with a side of pesto olive oil and is also top notch . The owner went out of his way 3 times to stop by and make sure that we were well cared for . The menu is pretty well thought out , is very reasonably priced ,and has a good amount of diversity . The ambiance is 5 stars , and from our table we watched manatee swimming in the weeki wachee river as the sun set . I'm new to the area and from now on I will take all my visitors from home to the upper deck . Pleasantly overly impressed with this place !

The only place I've ever seen that sticks to their kids meals being for 5 years old and under. What?

My wife and I paddled up the Weeki Wachee River to The Upper Deck restaurant for lunch today. This is something we've done many times in the past. Today, while I was tying off the kayaks on a dock piling, a waitress told me I had to pull the kayaks out of the water and onto the dock. I told her this was something we've done like 20 times in the past and there's never been an issue. She informed me they needed the slip space for boats. I looked around and every slip was open without a boat anywhere to be seen, it's not like there was a shortage of space. I replied that kayaks are boats. She said no, these spaces are for real boats. I told her again that we've done this many times in the past, and I didn't want to pull my two loaded kayaks up on a dock. She informed me that if I didn't want to pull my kayaks up on the dock I should leave. I spoke to the owner and he echoed the waitresses sentiments, in an even ruder tone. He made it clear that the customer is never right at The Upper Deck, even turning around and trying to challenge me when I told him I would not come back. I guess The Upper Deck has such a booming business that they can afford to turn repeat paying customers away. No worries. We paddled back down the Weeki Wachee River to Bayport, where we loaded up our kayaks. After a short drive we had a fabulous lunch at the always amazing Becky Jack's Food Shack. I've tolerated the sub-par food at The Upper Deck because we had a tradition of stopping there during our kayaking trips for lunch and a libation, and to be honest it's a great location. However, because of the way I was treated today by a waitress and the owner I will never go back there, and I encourage you all to avoid The Upper Deck restaurant as well. Anyone looking for excellent food at a great price should check out Becky Jack's Food Shack. Becky Jack's lacks a great river-view location, but their food and service is top notch. Their owners get it. Becky Jack's Food Shack is a true Hernando County gem.

I went to the upper deck last Friday and it was GREAT! We had spent the day kayaking on the weeki wachee river and had only planned on having a couple drinks, but that didn't happen. We had a party of 6, we were sat immediately without even getting a sideways look about our wet clothes and bathing suits (guys have to have shirts but girls can wear bathing suits). We started out with a round of drinks and our server Jason was GREAT! And very persuasive! After a couple rounds he gave us his recommendations for lunch and we took his advice. 4 of us got the French dip sandwiches (AWESOME!) and the other 2 shared a HUGE nacho supreme. After we finished our meal the live music started, so of course we stayed, and drank longer. All in all this was a great find, and we will be back!

I don't know why this place gets bad reviews. We have been here three different times and enjoy it every time. Today I got the crab cake sliders and they were awesome. My boyfriend gets their wings and absolutely loves them. We try to stay away from chains (minus dunkin donuts) and so when he craves wings we have picked this as the spot!

There wasn't a person in this restaurant not smoking cigarettes. The entire restaurant was smoked out. I could never eat at this place. Such a nice setting ruined by the smell of bleach and cigarettes.

I wouldnt even give this place 1 star!!! I went there Saturday night at 10:45 starving after coming from a concert. I wanted to order something to eat and was informed by the waitress I could only have either mozzarella sticks but she couldn't give me any sauce because it was already put away or fried shrimp. I ordered the fried shrimp and what came out was fried batter and 2 tiny shrimp. I told the waitress that i only got two shrimps and the rest was hush puppies and she said they don't make hush puppies!! I was not happy with paying $8.00 for 2 tiny shrimp and she said the only thing she could do is give me 2 shrimp to go!!! WHAT!! NEVER HEARD OF THAT!!! The atmosphere was very cliquey and it seems they only cater to the regular clientele. DON'T EVEN BOTHER!!
